Food Safety Consortium (FSC)

Food Safety Consortium (FSC) is a charitable organization in Hong Kong aiming to address food safety challenges with cutting-edge and applied technologies and with timely and in-depth communication on food safety related matters. FSC comprises stakeholders from the academia, industry and other stakeholder organizations.


FSC is supported by the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU)'s Institute for Innovation, Technology and Policy Research (ITPR), HKBU academic units and research centers, together with its founding university The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).


We are the Hong Kong Affiliate of the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP), a prestigious industry association with over 100 years of history in protecting global food supply. As of 2023, FSC is also the first and only non-governmental organization (NGO) from Hong Kong and Mainland China to be recognized as an Observer at FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission.
